National World War II Museum
NATIONAL WORLD WAR II MUSEUM

Link to a national museum dedicated to the study of World War II located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The site contains information related to their permanent and special exhibits, such as, "Fighting for Democracy: Who is the "We" in "We, the People"? Many primary source documents can be found on the education "for teachers" section of the site under lesson plans. There are also podcasts and oral histories on the WWII History portion of the site.

THE WAR by Ken Burns
PBS: THE WAR

The companion website to the Ken Burns documentary contains personal accounts, photos and other media categorized in major categories including "At Home", "At War", and "The Witnesses". Strong written narratives and a "Search and Explore" feature make this a must visit site. Don't forget the educators portion of the site, the Snapshot Activities are very engaging and the collection of lesson plans is strong and features titles such as "Hispanics During WWII" and "Censorship".

National Park Service USS Arizona Memorial Website
USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL SITE BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE

Rich resource with photo galleries of the Arizona; the events of December 7, 1941; and underwater views of the Arizona today. Also includes history and culture resources which include information about people, places, and stories. Stories include remembrances of the attack on the Arizona by survivors and U.S. Navy Salvage war diaries.

National Park Service Tuskegee Airmen Site
THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN SITE BY THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE

The Tuskegee Airmen are described in detail at this National Park Service site. Two soldier stories are included as are descriptions of training, air fields, and a photo gallery.

This photo was taken in March 1945 by Toni Frissell of a Tuskegee Airman and is owned by the Library of Congress.

Navajo Code Talkers (11.7.3)
NAVAJO CODE TALKERS WEBLINKS

An article on the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) site published prior to the release of the Windtalkers motion picture. It was originally in Prologue magazine's Winter 2001 issue and is written by Adam Jevec and titled "Semper Fidelis, Code Talkers". A chart with samples of the code appears at the bottom of the article. The article link is:
