This is my thirteenth year teaching at Ranch View School. I have taught second, third, and fourth grade and have also run after school activities including Journalism, Student Council, and ECO-Kids. I enjoy gardening and you may find me somewhere near the pondless waterfall on campus. I have always wanted to teach and feel blessed to be working at a wonderful school. My favorite color is pink and I love to collect frogs. I have several cat children and one dog child. My favorite food is Mexican and I love Starbucks' iced green tea. In my free time I like to read, draw, paint, go to the movies, shop, and spend time with my family. Click on the links below to find out more about me.

It Matters

An old man strolling along the beach saw a young boy picking up objects and throwing them into the water. “What are you doing?”, the old man asked.
“These starfish have been washed ashore and if they  don’t get back into the water, they’ll die!”, replied the boy. Pointing to the thousands of starfish stranded, the man said, “You’ll never be able to save all  those starfish. So what does it matter?” The boy looked down at the starfish in his hand and said, “It matters to this one!”

Here I am at 6 years old.
This is my second grade picture taken of me when I was 6 and 3/4 years old. I was young for second grade since my birthday is in October. My teacher's name was Mrs. Putuff and I enjoyed reading. I won an award for reading the most books in one month. My favorite book in second grade was "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White.

Gardening
I've always enjoyed being outside. I can't remember a time when I didn't grow things at home. As a child I grew lettuce and carrots during the summer. My grandparents grew up on farms and taught me a lot about planting. They grew all kinds of things each year including peaches, boysenberries, bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, and garlic. I try to remember all they taught me as I continue to grow things today. Here is a site from the Kids' Valley Garden to help motivate you to become a gardener.

Favorite Children's Books
I love to read, especially children's books. My favorite authors are Dr.Seuss, Robert Munsch, Suzy Kline, EB White, and Diane deGroat. One of my favorite chapter book series is Horrible Harry by Suzy Kline. Harry is not as horrible as he sounds. My favorite picture book is called "Stephanie's Ponytail" by Robert Munsch. This is a great story about being your own person.
